US drops largest non-nuclear bomb in history: report
By Ellen Mitchell - 04/13/17 12:46 PM EDT

The U.S. military has for first time dropped its largest non-nuclear bomb in combat against ISIS in Afghanistan, CNN reported Thursday.

The Defense Department dropped a Massive Ordnance Air Blast Bomb (MOAB) on an Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) tunnel target, the report said.

The MOAB, which has a blast radius of one mile, replaced a similar Vietnam-era bomb known as Daisy Cutter in the late 2000s. It is sometimes said that the acronym is short for Mother Of All Bombs.

The bomb was dropped in Afghanistan's Nangarhar province, CNN reported.

If you want to send a message, call Western Union. Bombs are a notoriously poor way to send messages, open to widely varying interpretations and they have an unfortunate tendency to commit crimes against humanity when they are detonated indiscriminately.

The bomb is reportedly four times as powerful as the US military's GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast bomb (whose official military acronym "MOAB" is often unofficially rendered as "Mother of All Bombs&quot . This Russian device would therefore be the most powerful conventional (non-nuclear) weapon in the world.[1] The veracity of Russia's claims concerning the weapon's size and power have been questioned by US defense analysts.[2]

"FOAB" was successfully field-tested in the late evening of September 11, 2007.[3] The new weapon is to replace several smaller types of nuclear bombs in its arsenal.[4]

conveniently nicknamed the "Father of All Bombs" is a bomber-delivered thermobaric weapon. Moscow claims the FOAB is four times as powerful as America's MOAB.

According to the website "How Stuff Works," a parachute pulls the behemoth bomb on a pallet out of the back of a cargo plane. The pallet and the bomb then separate so the MOAB can be directed to its target by a satellite guidance system. The latter feature makes it one of the world's largest "smart bombs."

How much you want to bet this had zero to do with ISIS and he was bombing the opposition of whatever the next despot he wants to run things over there?

The last thing Trump wants to do is hurt ISIS, they're his boogie man.

And Trump campaigned out of both sides of his mouth on using force depending on his mood and the audience. We will be in ever expanding wars as long as he's in charge.
