I'm 68 y/o And Have Never Been This Afraid For The World Till Now....

and I lived through the Cuban Missile Crisis. Trump is a man child and a loose cannon. He thrives on what he feels is good press and goes out of his way to create it himself.

He's basking in the glow (no pun intended) of both the Syrian & Afghan MOAB strikes. Many in the media are providing him encouragement by giving him accolades for these strikes. They are heaping praise on him for his so-called military prowess.

If he feels that by upping the stakes he can continue getting good press - he might just be insane enough to go after NK where we have another unstable man child in control of that country.

We are in trouble folks - right here in River City. It starts with 'T' and that stands for Trump.

I hope the adults in his Party take action to contain him.

I fear there is no one in his Party willing to stand up to him and all this keeps me awake at night and makes me the most I've been afraid in my life.

The USSR actually had the ability to destroy the US, N Korea does not.

With around 20,000 U.S. military and a lot of US ex-Pats. Japan is within striking distance as well. Blowing up NK can draw in China or Russia leading to a World war.

And most of Seoul is out of reach from N Korean artillery contrary to popular opinion.
Of the vast artillery force deployed by the North along the border, only a small portion — Koksan 170-mm self-propelled guns, as well as 240-mm and 300-mm multiple launch rocket systems — are capable of actually reaching Seoul.

At this point I don't give a damn who it is as long as he's not fucking everything up any more. Well, I'll exclude the sycophants and family, but that should have been implied.

I want him gone NOW. His appointees can go tomorrow. His budget can go into the shredder the day after that.

to keep Trump from doing something stupid(er). The problem is that he just says shit without thinking. He's been bragging about our YUUGE "armada" and said publicly that we'd attack NK if they do another nuclear test. That option has always been on the table, but the stupid thing is that by threatening them he's painted himself into a corner; so now if they do their test (and they will; they always do), if he doesn't order an attack he'll seem weak. And worse, he'll feel weak, which is something he can't tolerate. So I hope that if necessary Mattis does a Schlesinger (Nixon's defense secretary who, as Nixon got drunker and weirder during Watergate, was said to have told military commanders to take orders from him and not Nixon).

It's like Dr. Strangelove, except that now Gen. Jack D. Ripper is the president.

Yes it's terrifying but the country has been through a hell of a hell of a lot in the first half of the 20th also.

Now it's our turn.

each with unknown horrifying future possibilities while it was going on.
That must have been pretty terrifying also.

Yes we had the threat of the bomb as kids but it turned out to be only a threat at the time, but unfortunately it's coming back to haunt us.

He is creating a divide that will last long after he is gone. I've never had much hope for a united country but I didn't think it would ever get this bad. Now I can really see how easy it must have been for Hitler to brainwash the masses.

This is the first time in my life I've ever thought a bomb shelter might be a good idea. I remember the neighbors building one during the Cuban Missile Crisis era and thinking it was silly. Not so silly with an ignorant narcissist in charge of the nukes.

But we also have a unique situation where the NSA is active military and Gen Mattis just retired and needed special permission from congress. Is this too much military power?
