(2,244 posts)Best OP I've read in a long time. Thank you for making my morning.
I've lurked here off and on for years and only recently joined, but even as a newbie I can understand exactly what you're saying...

(9,729 posts)Here's an amazingly prescient passage from "Catch-22" by Joseph Heller:
' Yossarian attended the education sessions because he wanted to find out why so many people were working so hard to kill him. A handful of other men were also interested, and the questions were many and good when Clevinger and the subversive corporal finished and made the mistake of asking if there were any.
Who is Spain?
Why is Hitler?
When is right?
Where was that stooped and mealy-colored old man I used to call poppa when the merry-go-round broke down?
How was Trump at Munich?
Hi-ho beriberi!
and Balls! all rang out in rapid succession, and then there was Yossarian with the question that had no answer:
Where are the Snowdens of yesteryear? '
How, indeed, WAS Trump at Munich? And what about ghoti?
Nevertheless, I do find "scuba girl hose-over" to be just a trifle condescending, if not actually asafoetidia-laden.

... and I'm floating 17 inches above it too.
on edit: Why is it that surrealist discussions end up lapsing into dada poetry?

Basque mechanics betwixt the occidental shoe-shined my pet alpaca but left the exhaust manifold begrimed and glistening with the effulgence of a million bio-luminescent giant miniature space hamsters. Vote for Pedro.
