So, the bare-chested guy holding a Greek-style helmet thinks that makes him a warrior?
How much does he really know about what Greek warriors went through? Their training? Their death rate?
Does he realize that most Greek soldiers had sex with each other? (Somehow I don't think today's right-wingers think that's macho, even though the Greeks were a hyper-masculine society).
And don't even get me started on the morons who have "Molon Labe" on their trucks!!!
(Forgive my Anglicized spelling, I don't know how to use Greek letters in DU)
As if the government couldn't take down any of those guys in less than five minutes if that was their goal.
Trading on acts of true heroism - when real lives and communities were at stake - for their own false bravado just chaps my hide.
None of these posturing fools would last 5 minutes in the real Greek armies of the day.
Faugh!

(27,115 posts)Honestly (as I posted in the other thread) I've never seen the movie, but just from what I've heard, is hardly true to the actual battle of Thermopylae.

(24,461 posts)Just like the meme says - "Your shirt says 'Tapout' and UFC but your body says cookouts and KFC". Bunch of pasty doughboys who wouldn't last minute one in a real war. They could be taken down without using fatal ammo.
What's more hilarious is that these are the same feeble-minds that think the police should have roughed up David Dao MORE. They're all about law and order . . . unless it applies to THEM.
