Did Robert W. Johnson (of Johnson & Johnson) pay $1 million for his ambassadorship to the UK?

Robert W. Johnson (of the Johnson & Johnson family) gave $1 million to DT’s inauguration on November 21, 2016.

Here is a list of inauguration donors:

Johnson was nominated to be the United States Ambassador to the United Kingdom by President Donald Trump on January 19, 2017.[14]

Also, Todd Ricketts’s nomination to be Deputy Commerce Secretary was announced on 11/30/16. His mother, Marlene Ricketts, gave $1,000,000 to the Inaugural on 1/6/17.

Here is a list of nominations:

DO YOU SEE ANY OTHER LINKS BETWEEN THESE TWO LISTS? I JUST QUICKLY SKIMMED THROUGH AND FOUND THOSE TWO.

Both parties have made a practice of selling these offices for a long time. Fortunately, US ambassadors don't actually do any work. They just throw parties.

For several decades, presidents have generally followed a “70-30” rule when it comes to such appointments
, nominating career foreign service officers for roughly 70 percent of U.S. missions abroad and reserving the rest for political allies.

I wonder what Trump's ratio will turn out to be.

(fyi Obama's ambassador to the UK, Matthew Barzun, was finance chair of Obama for America and "bundled" millions in campaign contributions).

this sort of thing goes back to Reagan, or Nixon, even. It's not a recent development. And no, I didn't say "let it go", it's corruption regardless of which side is doing it.
