This is my basic proposal for where we as a party should be on the issues

Sixties and Seventies liberation movement positions on social issues.
New Deal to New Left on economic issues.

And FAR less hawkish/more sane than the GOP on foreign policy.

This centers both justice struggles and throws no one under the bus.

Can we all more or less live with THAT dual-center pairing of emphases?

If the liberation movement of the 60's and 70's worked we wouldn't need to go back to it a 2nd time 50 years later.

We need to be okay with our differences in this party and not feel obligated to funnel all beliefs into the exact same thing.

Let's dare to believe we can have fundamental differences (like religion, and economics and sexual orientation with identical direction.

Those who are working in social justice campaigns today are standing on the shoulders of the liberation giants. They don't regard those movements as absolute failure

And I was talking about a basic orientation, not a "line" in the Stalinist/Maoist sense.

I just don't want to go right back to 1960's to prove a point. We have a long way to go but we're better off than we were in 1960's and I'd hate to throw the baby out with the bath water and go back 50-60 years to try to regroup.

It's 2017, we just have to be proactive and fight everyday to beat the doors down of the Republican Party. In southern football we talk about how the game is won in the trenches. We haven't spent much time in the trenches lately, it's time we get back and get to work.

I'm willing.

when we can't even win locally in so many places.

What wins in Boston or Seattle doesn't necessarily win in Tennessee.

We're trying hard to rebuild our county party here in Murfreesboro, TN. We believe (or at least some of us do) that our path to reclaiming power from the lunatic Republicans that run our state is by appealing to local issues and to ALL of the voters in our districts, which means RURAL voters as well.

This is only my opinion but no one far left, liberals, progressives etc. agree on everything, just like in church not everyone agrees with everything the pastor says. But we all agree on most things and we are going to all have to stand together or we're never going to get anything accomplished
