11. So Flynn, acting as a private citizen in 2015

after getting fired by Obama in 2014, goes to Russia and accepts payment from Russia. How is that Obama's problem other than the fact that he was the president at the time it occurred? Was he supposed to have Flynn under surveillance? I don't think they would have liked that. Flynn, as a retired military officer, was well aware of what was required of him to accept payment from a foreign government. Then Flynn lies about it on his security clearance paperwork. Again, other than Obama being president at the time that occurred, how is that his fault? Should they have subpoenaed Flynn's bank records? Again, I don't think that would have gone over very well. I think the only reason Flynn is back in the news is Yates will be testifying in public and they are all scrambling to try to figure out what to do when that hits the fan. No wonder Chaffetz says he won't seek re-election and may step down early. Wanna bet it will be before Yates testifies?

Flynn served as Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency from 2012-2014 so the vetting for that job would have taken place in 2012. How then can Obama be responsible for something that took place in 2016, several years after he left government service. But this is so typical of modern day Republicans - an aversion to the truth.

Flynn had clearance re-upped in Jan 2016 (senior people continue clearances in case called in for background knowledge) so his responsibility to proactively update forms in 2017 with any foreign contacts or money.
