House GOP backs down from a last-minute push to vote on health-care bill, smoothing way for government to stay open past Friday

Despite pressure from the White House, House GOP leaders determined Thursday night that they don’t have the votes to pass a rewrite of the Affordable Care Act and will not seek to put their proposal on the floor on Friday.

A late push to act on health care had threatened the bipartisan deal to keep the government open for one week while lawmakers crafted a longer-term spending deal. Now, lawmakers are likely to approve the spending bill when it comes to the floor Friday and keep the government open past midnight.

Looks like you got sold a bill of goods by a bunch of fast-talking flim-flam artists who don't give a tinker's damn about you. So, what do you say? Ready to take a fresh look at the Democrats? They're the ones who did away with insurance company denials of coverage for pre-existing conditions. They're the ones who are fighting all across the country for a living wage for everyone. They're the ones working hard to make sure your air is breathable and your water is drinkable. They're the ones who'd like your kids and grandkids to get an advanced education without incurring a lifetime of debt that can't be discharged.

Think about it.

now they can't get it done? It was all a charade, a show trial

They can't govern because they can't make difficult choices, they can't ever
compromise, can't be disappointed, it's all or nothing for them

Democrats should not cooperate unless they need to appear reasonable,
that does have its place at times.
