A lot of assumptions

Last edited Sat Apr 29, 2017, 05:42 AM - Edit history (2)

Reuters and other news sources are reporting that Donald Trump assumed that the job of presidency of the United States would be "easier" than it is in fact.

Trump's decision to run for President was based on a pile of assumptions.

* He assumed if Obama was doing it, it must be easy.
* He assumed it was easy because Obama made it look easy.
* He assumed that as he (Trump) was "successful" beyond all others, he could do anything himself.
* He assumed that being chief executive of government was similar to, if not easier than, business.
* He assumed that he could run his business and be President simultaneously.
* He assumed that he could delegate the duties of President and take the credit for the successes.
* He assumed that he was King Midas with the golden touch. Everything would be successful if he were President.
* He assumed that post-election, not only would his base continue to support him, all he'd have to do was to appear on television like The Apprentice and the rest of the country would fall in line, assuming that audiences are malleable.
* He assumed that he could bully and control all the media, not just FOX News.
* He assumed that even limited to Alex Jones, Bill O'Reilly, and Sean Hannity, they alone would be enough to control his message.
* He assumed that Jared and Ivanka could hide his mistakes and poor judgment from everyone.
* He assumed that he could continue to jump in a car and drive wherever he wanted.
* He assumed that being President meant getting week-ends off.

Great summary

I am going to post on this but one thing that has really hurt him is that he isn't a leader or even a manager. I don't mean to rank them but usually the leader is the top and managers make the overarching AND day-to-day happen. He does neither. There is a huge difference between leadership and barking orders at people - people completely at your will and whim.

he'd already know how hard it is to build and maintain a successful business. His idea of success is to inherit a bucket load of money from daddy, stiff honest small businessmen and declare bankruptcy and run when the going gets tough. He's a disgrace and makes the many small business people in our nation very, very irritated.
