Even if DT has already been impeached by then -- his party should still be held responsible for putting him into office.
So we should make it a condition of running in the Democratic primaries that any candidate make public 5-10 full years of tax returns. (States may not be able to impose this condition -- there is a constitutional argument to be made -- but parties are free to determine who runs under their banners.)
If a candidate doesn't want to do it -- as many billionaires might not -- then, fine, they won't be running as a Dem. Let the billionaires, and others who don't believe in transparency, flock to the other party. And if they choose to run as an Independent instead of a Democrat in order to avoid this requirement, let them explain why.

But we don't know that Hillary's position didn't help her. She won the popular vote by 2.9 million votes. We don't know how many swing voters swung to her because they distrusted him, with his non-transparency on taxes being an issue.
