My brother thinks we should be afraid of this. Fear This : Mundo Fox

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2012/01/26/1058654/-Fear-This-Mundo-Fox

One of the problems with the Republican election is the lack of support from the Latino voter. They have about 2% support from this group. The GOP propaganda machine is about to roll out their new baby. This is to target Latino voters.

MundoFox, a new Spanish-language free-to-air television network catering to the U.S. Hispanic market.
The network is scheduled to launch during the autumn season of 2012 in Hispanic homes nationwide and will offer a range of programming that will be analogous to the English FOX Network.

The company wants to provide an alternative for the 50+ million Latino viewers.

I think we should fear this. Fox News has used false information, lies, and incorrect stats for the past 10 plus years to achieve what ever is on their agenda, and they are very good at it. They are about to start working on the Hispanic / Latino voters.

...but isn't this just the 'network' programming? Like shows and all, instead of the Fox News?

I know here in Indiana we have Fox59, which is the 'Fox Network' and just shows (mostly terrible) television. The News is local affiliate stuff though, not Insanity Hannity and O'Reilly. Or maybe the Mundo Fox is the Fox NEWS Network; but would it just be a translation, or would it be a whole new lineup of 'conservative' Latinos?

Not enough information that I saw. I am not, however, perfect and may well miss something.

Thirty years later and some of the jingles still stick in my mind:

Simon Simona con Simonese.

Chup-Chup Maggi.

And I could probably come up with entire songs if the t.v. wasn't on right now. So, yes, if the Republicans figure out how to market their politicians it could lead to problems.
