Very good program about Revolutionary War on the Military Channel.

Just a heads-up: Once again, the Military Channel is doing what the History Channel should be doing. As I mentioned in a recent post, I happened upon this cable channel by accident while I was channel-surfing. Now, I watch it quite a bit, particularly because I'm a WWII buff, and this channel could actually be called the World War II Channel because it has so many great programs on the subject.

I'm in the Pacific Time Zone, so I'm not sure what's showing in other zones, but it's now showing a documentary narrated by Charles Kuralt and with significant commentary by historians. It's quite interesting. Earlier this morning, there was a program about Pickett's Charge during the Battle of Gettysburg. Apparently, all day long today, it will be about American history.

...(Pettit's Battery), in charge of a 10-pounder Parrott Rifle (cannon), raining hell on Pickett's Charge..

Got up close and personal near the end, and he got some minor notoriety in the action, but obviously he lived through ti or else he wouldn't have had great-great grandkids.

Actually, the History Channel and the Military Channel (with Charles Kuralt narrating) had separate Revolutionary War documentaries on all day. One year I watched both. The one on the History Channel is far superior to the one on the Military Channel in every way.
