has stated he wants an independent investigation.
However, "Well, I do declare," the "honorable" senator from that lovely estate down south has found a bug in his mint julep and is just all beside himself and can't understand why we can't just all go about our own merry ways and let the good 'ole boys take care of these little matters.

“While the President has the legal authority to remove the Director of the FBI, I am disappointed in the President's decision to remove James Comey from office. James Comey is a man of honor and integrity, and he has led the FBI well in extraordinary circumstances. I have long called for a special congressional committee to investigate Russia's interference in the 2016 election. The president's decision to remove the FBI Director only confirms the need and the urgency of such a committee.”

Looks like McCain and BFF Graham aren't quite on the same page.

Any congressional committee will be led by the majority party, right? We need a special prosecutor with an unlimited funding, subpoena power and open televised hearings. Any classified info can be heard by a bipartisan panel in a scif and if necessary that panel can pass along it's judgement with majority, minority, or dual statements. We want actual facts and actual prosecutions and sentences. No one just hops in a helicopter and flies away.
