KRUGMAN: "Romney offers nothing but warmed-over right-wing platitudes"

It appears that the Obama campaign has decided to ignore the queasiness of Democrats with Wall Street ties, and go after Mitt Romney’s record at Bain. And rightly so!

After all, what is Romney’s case – that is, why does he want us to think he should be president? It’s not about ideology: Romney offers nothing but warmed-over right-wing platitudes, with an extra helping of fraudulent arithmetic, and it’s fairly obvious that even he himself doesn’t believe anything he’s saying.

coherent message as far as I can tell. It is about more than beating the other guy. Maybe Obama's message is not getting through the distractions, but I am waiting. His flimsy response to the woman about her husband losing his job to H1-B visa workers is a sample of his problems. No doubt Obama is better than Romney, but he better come up with a message for younger Americans that involves growth and a future or he is going to lose them.

The debates will really make this Mitt problem come to the forefront big time. People who watch are people who are going to vote. You can not win a debate by talking in platitudes. The moderators and your opponent will not let you get away with it.

I hope Obama starts by thanking Mitt for his leadership in bringing the ACA to the nation. We used your health care advisers to make sure we followed your example. And look at very positive results of Romney care.
