FBI raids Maryland GOP consultant over 2013 Virginia race
The FBI confirmed it served a search warrant in Annapolis, Maryland, but declined to elaborate. Kelley Rogers, president of Strategic Campaign Group, told reporters the investigation relates to work the consultant did for former Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, the GOPs 2013 gubernatorial candidate.

(494 posts)This still may have a connection to the much-ballyhooed Trump/Russia investigation, but it's a firecracker that just fizzled out on the driveway.

Why?
As far as I'm concerned, the FBI knows why they were there, and nobody else, at this point.

(8,703 posts)Palmer Report has previously reported that one of the FBIs cases focused on Donald Trump is a RICO case against Trump and his Russian financial associates (link). So if todays action is indeed the FBIs response to Trumps abrupt firing of FBI Director James Comey, then it stands to reason that the Republican firm raided today is suspected of being tied to Trump and money laundering although to be clear the FBI has made no official statement about the raid beyond its cryptic tweet.

(4,602 posts)Just saying the only information we can trust is that a raid occurred.
