The disdain for this current president is so palpable

Last edited Thu May 11, 2017, 10:53 PM - Edit history (1)

right now--here and abroad-- that I don't see how anyone can look at him with any kind of respect.

Each day, we are confronted with assaults against our Constitution, insults, belittling, hatred, and lies. When will some sanity prevail? I've had enough!

It hasn't even been six months and I'm already exhausted. I don't even watch Trump speak because it makes me too angry. I have to limit my exposure to Mango Mussolini.

that we thought Bush to be the worst president. These days, he would qualify for Mr. Congenitally compared to what we have now

Who would've thought?

I was devastated when Gore and Kerry lost. I thought that with President Obama, we were finally moving forward, leaving the shitty past behind.

Little did I know...

I lived several years in Germany and still have friends there. They have nothing remotely positive to say about what is happening in America now.

I met some Aussies during Oktoberfest one year, and we still talk. They have nothing good to say about it either.

The Aussies were drunk - most people were - and apparently hungry. I was in line getting some pommes frites and one of the men casually grabbed a few out of my cone and we all started talking like we were all friends..which we all became.

but I'm so embarrassed for our country right now, because of the shitty leadership. It makes me so sad to think that many of us that are baby boomers, have had parents and even grandparents who fought a freaking dictator in WWII, so we could live free with a democracy.

My parents --who both served in the Army in WWII (mom was a nurse)-- are rolling over in their grave. And I'm sure they are not alone.

Congressional GOP need to remember this, because many of them have parents who sacrified for them also. How they can act so damn spoiled and entitled to whatever it is they want, makes me want to shout from the rooftop, "Get your head out of your ass--or whoever's ass-- and defend your parent's legacy!"

They didn't get the same messages growing up the rest of us did. Even when looking at the same thing.

We see hunger and want to help. They see hunger and want to blame.

And I simply want to know why. And not that tired-old-excuse they always try to give us about, "paying for other people's way."

I guess sometimes there is just no answer that will make a whole hell of a lot of sense.

McConnell is one of the first that comes to mind and Ryan is right behind him...
