Happy Mother's Day to all the first mothers (birth mothers) out there.

I want you all to know that you are in my heart today.

I look forward to the day when our society recognizes your love for your children, the loss you experienced, and your amazing resilience.

The legitimacy of your motherhood, including to children you were separated from, should never be questioned or doubted. Unfortunately, in this day and age it often is. But some day....

Much love to all of you.

recognition on Mother's Day.

That was the purpose to my post. To grant them some love and recognition while everyone else was already receiving it from many other people.

Yes, there are many different stores for first mothers, just like there are many different stories for parents who were not separated from their children.

The most common theme among first mothers is a feeling of love and loss.

and child can happen is important for both the mother and child's feelings of love and loss.

"I have never felt so alone" is not a statement that should end with a period.

Thank you; you are caring enough to start the conversation and to recognize the birth mothers.

I do believe that for many in society there is only one story they can picture happening...ending in abandonment.

4. Thank you for your kind words as well. I am sorry if there was a bit of an edge in my response

to your first post. I jumped to the conclusion that you were trying to downplay my message.

I am just so used to people not understanding that, as you said, there is not just one story.

Educating the world, and especially the United States, on this issue is an enormous task. They have made great progress in Australia, so perhaps there is hope. But it will take a lot of work and a whole lot of time.
