Watch Joe Walsh Shout ‘Ashleigh’ At Ashleigh Banfield Ten Billion Times

Charming Illinois Rep. Joe Walsh went on CNN today for an interview with anchor Ashleigh Banfield, of “getting demoted for criticizing network news coverage in the build-up to the Iraq War” fame. The subject was Walsh’s very mild recent comments about how double-amputee Iraq veteran and congressional candidate Tammy Duckworth won’t shut her dang mouth about her service, and therefore isn’t a Real Hero. What’s the problem, Banfield? And then she destroys him while he shouts her name for a number of minutes. We’re gonna miss Joe Walsh in January.

"Geez, I've said her name like ten or twelve times here. I need to stop and just smile."

No, not Joe Walsh. I'll bet he's complained about how all his ex ever talks about is child support and raising the kids these days.

It's about interrupting so she can't get a statement in that makes him look bad.

Plus no respect for anyone else.

And I disagree that my comment isn't relevant. Normal people figure out, hey, I might be acting like an ass and I just need to shut up and smile -- which would have let Ashleigh get in a statement a little more often. But not Joe Walsh.

I just think there's more to to it.

I agreed he's a jerk. "no respect for anyone else."

I probably shouldn't have said it's not about that. I just didn't catch where you implied he was a jerk. or that he has no self control. or no clue. one of those.

They say your name over and over and over. Its a super annoying distraction 'used to interrupt the caller when they are making an important point in their argument which the moronic host does NOT want to allow the audience to hear.

It is a loathsome thing to do.

They did it all the time on WLS AM in Chicago back in the day when I could stand to listen to them which I stopped doing about a year ago.

Despite his attempts to bully her, Banfield was armed with a sheaf of papers listing news articles about all the policy issues that Duckworth actully had been talking about during the campaign, refuting Walsh's claim that "all she talked about"" was her service.

Walsh came on expecting to bully Banfield and dominate the segment with a self-serving monologue, and Banfield was having none of it. She handily and effectively refuted his false claims with the facts.

The next interviewer should ask him: "you state that all Ms. Duckworth does is talk about her military record. Why is it that all you talk about is Ashleigh Banfield? How is Ashleigh Banfield related to your campaign?"

Go into any neighborhood bar in the Chicago area and there's a Joe Walsh in there driving customers out the door.

Actually I think I WAS married to a Joe Walsh. He made me hate the sound of my own name.

I rarely see him try to bully men, it's almost always women. Be it his wife who got a divorce on grounds of mental cruelty and the douchenozzle continued to ruin her life with withholding court mandated child suport. He made a bunch of sexist comments regarding Melissa Bean in '08 and now is trying to diminish Col. Duckworth's service. Finally he's gotta try to brow beat Banfield like he's scolding a child. The shitstain is a total boor...
