Obama Now Living His Best Life In Italy With Michelle

BY MICHELE GORMAN ON 5/22/17 AT 12:20 PM

This week, former President Barack Obama and President Donald Trump will travel abroad in Europe. While Obama enjoys his retirement with a vacation in Italy and a meeting later this week with a U.S. ally, Trump is in the midst of his first international trip as leader of the free world, with stops in both Europe and the Middle East.

Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama arrived in Italy over the weekend and are expected to vacation there for six days. Since their arrival, Obama has played golf at an exclusive course in Tuscany, and the former first lady has hiked. On Thursday, the former president will deliver a speech alongside German Chancellor Angela Merkel at Berlin’s Brandenburg Gate. Also that day, his successor is scheduled to be in Brussels for a meeting and dinner with Secretary of Defense James Mattis and NATO leaders, before moving on to Sicily and wrapping up his multiday trip on May 27.

Since leaving the White House in January, the Obamas have been on multiple vacations, including islands in the Caribbean and the Pacific. Photos surfaced of Obama enjoying relaxation by kitesurfing and Jet-Skiing. In his few public appearances this year, Obama has avoided commenting on Trump. Instead, he has participated in a roundtable discussion with young men from Chicago, and he has encouraged young Americans to remain politically active. He continued to lay out plans for his presidential library in his hometown of Chicago, and gave a speech urging Republicans to do what they believe is right in saving the Affordable Care Act, his signature law. The U.S. House of Representatives narrowly passed a bill to repeal and replace Obamacare.

Obama should issue a statement about how he's played so much golf he's tired of it and wishes to return to Presidential life!

If he wants to vacation the rest of his life, I'm okay with that. That's more than thirty years ordinary employment.

I'll even give George W. Bush a pass, as I can be a lazy son of a bitch too. (Hi, mom!)

I once had a job where I was on call 24 hours with twelve hour at-work shifts, just a few times a week, and expected to be coherent no matter when the calls came, even when I'd fallen asleep on my arm at work, drooling onto my desk and whatever paperwork I was charged with signing. When I was at home my kids would lift my eyelids and stare into my face whenever I fell asleep on the floor, "Daddy, wake up!" They hated the pagers and phone calls that would take their parents away from them. My wife existed those years in a similar state, with even greater responsibilities and underpaid intensity. Blame it on those damned altruist genes I see in Obama.

Has already sent me a Facebook post describing how terrible it is that the Obamas are vacationing again. Guess she can't find anything good to say about her orange hero, so she again attacks the Obamas.

He is not being paid by the taxpayers to WORK for the US government now. He can do anything he wants to, and it's nobody's business.

I'm 76.
I don't really need my left one any more.
Sadly, I don't know how Barack could use it, but if he wanted it, it's his.
Just let me join the entourage.
Oh, and bring Miz t. too.
She'd be really pissed if I didn't.

Note to Barack:
Miz t, is one helluva cook/chef.
Tex Mex, Chinese, Cajun, Southern, Italian, German, Greek.
You name it, she can whip it up.
She's a whiz at themed dinner party table décor too.
Call me.

Getting home tomorrow.

She has the uncanny ability to take a printed recipe and tweak it to make it way better.
Like "This is 'g o o d', but if it had a sprig or two of rosemary and maybe just a pinch of oregano? And a little more garlic?"

Much earlier in our marriage we talked about opening a restaurant. Decided we didn't want to be married to a business 24/7. You really need that kind of dedication.

Yep, you do need that kind of dedication for owning a restaurant.. I've known owners and it helps that you want to live, eat, and breathe your creation.
