Contrary to the rave reviews for Donald Trump in Saudi Arabia...

...it was not a great performance by Donald Trump.

It was another performance of hatred and division, this time in the Middle East, rather than in America.

Yes, the Saudis and other Sunnis applauded his words to remove the terrorists from the face of the earth. But the danger is that it further alienated the Shi'a from the Sunni in that part of the world. The danger is that the Saudis interpreted it exactly that way. It was a very divisive and hateful speech when analyzed below the surface.

The hate was directed toward the Shite majorities in Iran and Iraq. Trump did what he does best. He divided them even further.

This young woman from Iran is very sweet and loves the United States and Americans, in general.

She said that on the first day of the Persian New Year (Nowruz), the Ayatollah would issue a statement wishing everyone a Happy New Year. Simultaneously and annually, President Obama would also broadcast a greeting to Iran. She said everyone would tune to hear Obama rather than the Ayatollah.

I cannot imagine Trump reaching out in this manner with a message of peace.
