What does covfefe mean and why was Donald Trump tweeting so late at night? (Metro, UK)

Today’s word of the day is ‘covfefe’ and it was invented at 5.06am this morning (12.06am in Washington DC).

It was created by Donald Trump who went on a late-night Twitter rant but seems to have become disheartened and just given up half way through.

He tweeted: ‘Despite the constant negative press covfefe’.

That was it – nothing more. Some say he may have been drunk tweeting (unlikely as he’s teetotal), others think he was tweeting in his sleep.

<snip>
There are already t-shirts celebrating the new word
