Actions have consequences. We the left have standards.
When Ted Nugent threatened Barack Obama's life Donald Trump feted him with a invitation to the Whiter House.

(99,710 posts)I probably wouldn't have fired her because I'm a softie but I can't see how she possibly thought it was a good idea. I constantly censor myself when it comes to Chump. I want him humiliated and humbled and his world views discredited but I do not want to see him hurt.

(10,173 posts)The right is entitled to visceral anger and emotion.
The left is not, even when justified. Trump has done far worse than Kathy Griffin , yet he is President. He shames the Presidency, seeks to implement policies that will hurt Americans and has his surrogates assault the sanity of Americans every day.
But an act Griffin has been doing for decades ( I don't think this is the first time she's used a fake bloody head as a prop) is now what's hot in the streets.

(1,462 posts)She owned it and apologized. Why do you want to continue to crucify her? The right would reward someone and be pissed if the someone apologized. She made a mistake and apologized, to continue to punish her is wrong! You can personally boycott her if you choose. I will support her.
And I wouldn't have apologized.
Trump deserves ZERO apologies given all the people he has belittled. Not to mention the multiple times he encouraged gun violence against HRC. He deserves no respect and no mercy. The ignorance he spewed regarding President Obama was enough to earn him a seat in hell, the mocking of handicapped? Forget about it, Donnie 2 Scoops is lower than whale shit.

(5,042 posts)CNN made a business decision, like other businesses have dropped conservative moonbats for their bullshit. I don't even know why they employ a third rate comedian, but that's the state of news these days.

How many photos of real lynchings were posted during Obama's term? Those were real, unlike this!

(8,421 posts)Me and my spouse are old; we watch TV on NYE. I am not a fan of what Kathy Griffin did, but I will miss her and Anderson Cooper. I will miss her talking with Joy Reid on MSNBC. She did not think before she posed, and will live with it for a long while. The "nuge" does not seem to have any consequences.

(7,809 posts)Her antics and poor Anderson's nervous giggle were funny and they had some great chemistry on camera.
It looks like I'll be watching something else on NYE, too.
Still, it would be nice if there were some real consequences to a reichwinger demonstrating how he would put a gun in a liberal's mouth. Besides being invited to the State of the Union, that is.

(42,862 posts)... she did apologize after all. It's not like she has her own nightly show... it's ONCE A YEAR on New Year's Eve... she's a comedian who had a joke that failed. Big deal. Get over it. Move on, CNN.
She's the perfect foil for giggling Anderson Cooper. She's abrasive and pushes the envelope, and it's fun to watch her try to embarrass Anderson.
They didn't fire her for this:

I found the photo repellent, and it put me in mind of the barbarians of ISIS. We do not need to be associated with those monsters.
