Unjust sentences expect them to rise with dipshit Trump

in office,
very interesting article, judges hands are tied on federal mandatory sentences

http://www.cnn.com/2017/06/02/politics/mandatory-minimum-sentencing-sessions/index.html

Bennett thinks this approach is unjust. "I basically couldn't live with myself if I didn't speak out," he says, standing in the center of his courtroom only hours after sentencing Rice. "I'm compelled to talk about it because I think it's one of the gravest injustices in the history of America."

1) the law has not changed under Trump. However unjust mandatory minimums may be they have been around for years.

2) Almost all (95%) of criminal sentences come from state courts not federal. Trump or Sessions or Obama or Congress have nothing to do with state sentencing.

clearly states federal courts and their mandatory sentencing

the article shows how the judges are fed up sending non violent criminal away for long federal prison terms and how Obama wanted reform in the system, now with Trump in charge that is out the window

It didn't. And at the federal level the number of criminal prosecutions is minimal compared to the states. No reform at the federal level will help the vast majority of cases.
