THE MEMO: Is Trump a victim of the 'deep state'?

Is President Trump being undermined by a “deep state” eager to leak damaging information about him?

The president’s allies, both within the White House and in friendly media outlets, say yes. Trump himself has complained repeatedly that he is being victimized by underhanded leaks.

To Trump’s critics, the talk of a deep state amounts to a conspiracy theory that has been pushed toward the mainstream from the wildest corners of right-wing media.

In their telling, the leakers have done the nation a vital service, shining a light onto previously secret communications between Russia and close Trump associates such as former national security adviser Michael Flynn and senior adviser and son-in-law Jared Kushner.

stop him to begin with?

Not very efficient conspirators by the look of it. Who's supposed to be the "deep state"? The military industrial complex? The Bilderbergers? The Illuminati? 400 pound fat hackers living in their parent's basement?

They're phrased differently, but in 2009 and for years after there was a lot of complaining about obstructionists and would-be traitors that were in the Obama administration.

Obama had the decency and common sense not to make an issue of them, but a lot of his supporters did. Couldn't figure out why there was a purge of either people who were held over from Bush II administration (whether political appointees in the narrow sense or not) or who didn't work hard to advance his initiatives and support his proposals.

Most government workers are (D) under any administration. Think of it an an emergent property, the result of hundreds of thousands of individual decisions that lead to certain outcome. Those who counterworked Obama would be expected to be fewer in number than those who think Trump's an ass.

("Deep state" is the same, but more of it.)

...yeah, trying his usual bullshit on a real government was bound to fail. Trump is a victim of his own ignorance, laziness, and hidebound nature.
