Am I to Understand Civility Only Applies to the Left?

Really, Reza Aslan felt the need to apologize for telling the truth: tRump is a piece of shit? Just because the RWNJs were sent scurrying back to their safe spaces for half the day? Meanwhile, Gianforte is a free man. Kim Weaver withdraws because of death threats. Proud Boys go marching in several cities.

Screw that!

Civility is dead. It was dead when the right decided it was ok to invite the Russians in. It was dead when they decided it was ok to mock and threaten Obama. It was dead when they decided it was ok to mock the disabled. It was dead when they decided it was ok to be misogynists. THEY HAVE NO MORAL HIGH GROUND TO RETREAT TO!!

They are not. Is it that hard to understand? It's the only way they can overbalance the scales.

... so, too, are Republicans who whine to the media when Democrats fight back.

5. I think Dems are way too worried about "how it will look" if they speak out

but not all of them. Maxine Waters doesn't seem to have any problem speaking her mind nor does Elizabeth Warren. There's civil and then there's just being a patsy. We've got patsy down and we really need to get over it. The whole "I can't believe you said that" is best responded to with "If you hadn't done that we wouldn't be talking about it." I'm not advocating being a rude jerk but seriously we have got to step up our game and stop acting like that parent who can't tell their child no and make it stick because of a bunch of crocodile tears. The truths the truth and tip toeing around it isn't going to win us any votes. Neither is acting like a wimp and apologizing every time someone whines about getting their feelings hurt.

Once you elect the pussy-grabber as your leader, you have given up the right to take offense at ANYTHING.

I wish the MSM would stand up (O'Donnell I guess did to an extent). Our senators need to stand up, too. Some of them have, but some solidarity would go a long way! Our leaders and our media need to step up. But they also need to be careful. I can understand why attacking our allies is a bad idea. Thing is, the RWNJs do not have allies and can attack seemingly everyone they like.

But, the truth should belong to us, we should not engage in anything other than the truth, to do otherwise would be to sink to their level.

Smear with the truth. Mainly what I'm upset over is the lack of smearage. While I understand that nit picking over the small things (Nugent and Palin in the WH, Gianforte, etc) may be viewed as a distraction from tRump/Russia, I believe it is important to expose the hypocrisy of the right in total. Leave no safe ground. The right is constantly looking for a way to go on the offensive. We go on the defense over small infractions (like Reza saying tRump is a piece of shit), and it makes us look bad. It seems the right never has to justify themselves or apologize. I want a level playing field.

Civility was declared a useless tactic by the 1968 Nixon campaign (where Roger Ailes got his start, by the way). The Republican Party has had that as their guiding light to varying degrees ever since.

I've never subscribed to the "when they go low we go high" mentality. I can appreciate the message behind it, but when push came to shove, politely asking a bully to leave me alone never worked. A swift kick to the balls or punch to the throat always seemed to send the appropriate message however, and dissuaded further interaction.

Sometimes a quiet show of strength works, but if not, show strength you must. Fighting fire with fire is sometimes not enough. Sometimes you have to burn shit to the ground to get the message across that you're not to be fucked with. Me against you? I'm gonna do everything in my power to make sure it's me that comes out on top. Period. No holds barred.
