(19,547 posts)To see the older people in positions of power too cowardly to risk anything to stop this destruction of democracy, while a bright young woman with everything to lose lays it all down.
I am ashamed for them, because apparently they are incapable of shame.

(38,485 posts)Not just the cowardly powerful, but also the fearful naysayers.
'Investigating election fraud might cause people to lose trust in our voting system integrity. See nothing! Say nothing!'
I was attacked yesterday for suggesting the tabulators were hacked. 'How is this even allowed to be discussed here?', they wrote.
Today, even after the document release, another poster dismissed it out of hand. 'No evidence at all,' they fumed.
Humans. Sigh.

(19,547 posts)What actually happened.
Painfully obvious.
I asume most of the denial comes from those who stand to profit from it in some form.

(6,043 posts)I doe not mean we have faith in our system of government. It means we have to face facts and fix our election system, and right the wrongs.

(145 posts)But when The Intercept sent it to the NSA, the NSA noticed that the document was folded, that it was a piece of paper that was folded. And from that, they concluded that it was printed out and hand-carried from a secure location. They checked their auditing system, found that only five or six people had printed that document. And Winner was the only person who had interacted with The Intercept via email. So, a lot of very bad operational security on the part of both Winner and The Intercept resulted in that very swift arrest.
AMY GOODMAN: You mean she had sent an email from her work email to The Intercept?
BRUCE SCHNEIER: Thats unclear, but thats the impression I got, which, you can imagine, is just crazy. But, you know, it could be from a Gmail account
Seems unfortunate chain of events happened there...but hats off to Ms Winter, she's a hero in my book.
