The filthy rich backers of that stinking party will force them to rob the poor for their fucking tax break.

It's going to happen.

That only needs 51 votes, but they have to avoiding running afoul of the Byrd Rule.

You cant ASSUME you will retain all 3 branches of government forever.
There is a pendulum and it ALWAYS swings.
They eliminate the filibuster.........they WILL BE SORRY.

...but I kind of hope it passes through the senate as is. Before you rip my head off, let me explain:

We need a catalyst for the Trump base implosion. Given that Trump and the GOP are already sabotaging Obamacare, why wait? Let it erode immediately. The fallout may (could, hopefully will) mean that The Resistance will grow.

But if we remain as is with Obamacare being chipped away at by the GOP, Trump's base may never get it. Of course, it can be argued they may never "get it" about anything, but we have to try and reach the disenfranchised idiot.

In my opinion, idiots welcomed in our resistance club - once they've seen the light! The more the merrier as America may actually have to fight a coup in the near future. We need all on board. If they still have their Obamacare, they may be less inclined to turn on the greedy, evil Ryan, et al.

Bring it, I say.

at least not in the category that will get screwed.

A win is a win to them. A win isn't a way for us to win in the end necessarily.

The Trump voters are mostly sheep and will believe any lies told to them.

the same as saving it. Besides the grim reality that the right could retain control of congress in 2018 and 2020, a majority of hard-core conservatives on SCOTUS could devastate this and all other federal mandatory-taxation programs by declaring them unconstitutional.

That is the plan among the ultraconservative billionaires pushing this agenda, and almost no moderate conservatives remain in congress to stop them: No Social Security, no national healthcare plan, no Medicare, no Medicaid assistance for elderly, no VA, no USPS -- all "privatized" as a way of getting people to stand back as they are destroyed.

No labor regulations on business. Selling off our federal lands for pennies, the ones that are not only held for preservation but also our second-largest source of national income.

No federal redistribution of wealth among states so that some don't sink into poverty, all their state wealth funneled into the pockets of the few. Property values collapsing, services without funding, jobs leaving the states, etc.

Even the principles of compulsory universal education and mandatory taxation to pay for it are in danger.

Conservative voters don't know it, but their leadership has been taken over by anti-taxation and regulation extremists, and the plutocrats pulling the strings on the right are nuts. And so much more is at risk of being lost. What happens when the next pandemic breaks out and all the people currently working so hard to identify and contain them are home and out of work, the federal programs helping develop new vaccines cancelled?

Then where would those to anxious to "save" what they can of the ACA right now by caving and settling be? We need these people thoroughly discredited and out of power. As soon as possible.

but then me and my family are not on ACA plan so it would be just like pre-ACA. But there was a period of time when I needed it for 6 months. So many people rely on the ACA. It was so hard to pass the first time so if it is repealed then it may take a decade before we have anything like that. Thousands of people will die and families devastated over that period of time. Worth sacrifice to save our democracy? Maybe, but there is no certainty it will help to get rid of trump. After all, it was his key promise so no one would be surprised.

I don't want anyone to die. That's the last thing I want.

But it's like putting out a fire in the basement to save the people in the attic when there isn't a chance in hell that the second floor isn't going to collapse.

Let the damn thing burn to the ground now. People will die, but maybe less of them if the adjacent homes don't catch fire too.

It's lose-lose at this point. Congress won't impeach Trump until they ram this through & the Dems are fairly powerless. Sadly, too many fuckers in this country thought it was cute to vote for Stein in order to spite Hillary. They're really the ones who are holding the empty gas cans.

But sure - let's keep throwing wet paper towels on the basement floor.

Trump is trying to get it done fast so they can move on to the business of screwing us over more with tax reform.

Any delay helps since this has been pushed out of the news due to Russiagate. They're hoping to push it through when Comey is the focus I'm reading. Doesn't seem they could do it so fast but who knows.
