What if the Russia thing does end up being just smoke?...

I'm playing devils advocate because given the amount of smoke it's hard to see how there couldn't be some level of collusion. But let's say that the investigation doesn't unearth any smoking gun that leads directly to impeachment. Then what? I say this because clearly trump needs to be impeached. But the republicans don't have the best interests of their country on mind of course and the only way they will impeach trump is when it looks like he will drag them down with him. So what is the next step IF the Russian investigation doesn't turn up enough?

Trump and Kushy are corrupt. Remember when the emoluments clause was an issue? Marry that to his rich-guy-first policy shop and let voters know they've been conned.

I can only guess that the GOP must have something to worry about. There has to be a body if evidence that can "hang them" out there. I find it hard to believe that it would possible to assemble a collective bag of unpatriotic assholes that are so bent on harming the people of this country without some coercion.

I doubt that they will let whatever "it" is be exposed.

evidence that can put him in prison for colluding with Russia, instead of just people around him, might not turn up.

He's broken so many other laws, though, such as using his office to make money, that provide cause. To me the best reason, though, is that he is unfit for office.

Trump's real concern, as is the case with all true narcissists, is himself. He was willing to throw campaign people under the bus if HE could be exonerated (he wanted Comey to tell everyone that he wasn't personally under investigation -- that is what he really cares about)

And I'm a worst/best case scenario person IRL. In almost all things I'm constantly trying to figure out each side, identify issues and prepare myself as best as possible for any possible outcome. I am 100% positive he was directly involved. I also believe 100% there is proof. Whether it rises to the level of criminal charges, I cannot speak even semi-intelligently to. But there is fire. And not just with members of his staff or campaign. With Trump. This isn't going away. IDK how long it's going to take, but there is fire.

...there are blazing fires. Republicans either see smoke or nothing... really, it's up to Republicans, now. The Special Prosecutor could come through. Even then, he could secretly give a report and Republicans decide it's just Trump being "an unconventional" President.
