David Corn breaks down the likelihood of the Trump Russia investigation ending in Fitzmas.

1. Per Comey's account, Trump clearly was leaning on him, hoping he'd take the hint--without directly ordering him to kill probe.

2. And when Comey didn't take the hint, Trump fired him. The president was trying to smother the Russia investigation.

3. This is an important matter for Congress to investigate fully.

4. But the Senate intel hearing today showed how much Congress will have to fight to get the truth & most Rs don't seem interested in that.

His statements to Comey were way out of line.

Based on where we are right now...with no idea whatsoever what Mueller has simmering on the stove...today's "hearing" tells me this is a road to nowhere.

That is the direct translation of "la cosa nostra" (our thing).

Anyone in the FBI would recognize the phrase.

FF45 is not going anywhere. We know how far the GOP is willing to go with McConnell and the SC seat.

They're doing what they can to keep a lid on their own felonies. They accepted Russian laundered money to fund some of their campaigns. They knew the money was Russian and that it was being laundered. Ryan is caught on surveillance acknowledging this. Nunez got money. Chaffetz got money. Ryan and McConnell got money. All of the Republicans in pivotal positions were bought. That's what part of Mueller's investigation will reveal.

wondering about this claim. I see it all around on twitter but nothing of substance. comments always seem to lead back to a Palmer article of Taylor. Would love to believe it. yes. I. would.

Claude Taylor? @TrueFactsStated

Starting to hear chatter that there are intercepts w/ Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell discussing funneling illegal Russian money into campaign
