I didnt move, speak, or change my facial expression in any way during the awkward silence that followed, Comey wrote. We simply looked at each other in silence. The conversation then moved on, but he returned to the subject near the end of our dinner.

In my opinion, Comey should have replied, "I have loyalty. Loyalty to our country and to the Constitution that we both swore to uphold."
Then he should have walked out.

(7,220 posts)I know it's not even close to the most important part. But I can't help but sigh wistfully when I remember there was never even a HINT of immoral behavior on the part of President Obama.
Then again, when one's been caught on tape saying "Grab 'em by the p****y", it doesn't help one's credibility in terms of "would he go there", does it?
Apologies for digressing. You were saying something about Obstruction of Justice? Please go on...

(20,760 posts)With a mob boss trying to wiggle out of indictments trying to get the family consigliere to put personal loyalty to him above loyalty to the family as a whole.
Perfectly happy to let the whole family go up the river as long as he can weasel out, and willing to imply threats, promises, goodfella-ing all around to get what he wants.
disgustedly,
Bright
