Why was this released today?

1. Why was Comey's opening testimony released today? Did the SIC release it or did Comey himself? Is the day-before release standard procedure? I'd love to know the motivation.

2. Who does it help to put it out there a day early? I heard Huckabee Sanders said the timing was "interesting" which I took to mean "annoying" to 45's team. Hope Comrade Pu**ygrabber is fuming about being caught off-guard by this.

I'm not a fan of Comey because I think he cost Hillary the election, but I don't think Trump will be wise to mess with someone who was head of the FBI. He'll have some tricks up his sleeve.

Today's release did not cover everything that occurred between Comey and Trump, so he will probably be asked for more details.
