SNIP..............
Weeks after the unexpected death of ousted co-founder Roger Ailes, and the shocking departures of anchor Bill OReilly and Ailess former deputy Bill Shine, whom one former Fox News executive called Ailess spiritual brother, the existential angst within the companys subterranean newsroom has reached a deeper level, Ellison said.
The warring factions within the network mirror a generational gap between NewsCorp CEO Rupert Murdock and his sons, James and Lachlan. Murdoch Senior represents the old guard within the company, who want very much to put the last years ugly scandal headlines behind them and soldier on.
James and Lachlan long embarrassed by Foxs right-wing bias and the exposure of the companys frat-house culture of sexual harassment and racial bullying represent a reformist movement within the company, which wants to shed its right-wing past and be taken more seriously as a journalistic organization.
The old guard were dealt a serious blow last week when for the first time in decades Fox News slipped to third place for viewer numbers in key demographics. The shine quickly wore off OReillys replacement Tucker Carlson who, after a spate of good numbers, has seen his ratings dive through the floor.

(27,811 posts)Decades of hammering away at good people and good policies paid off - even if they have to shut their doors, there's a lot of work to do undo their damage.

(52,227 posts)they saw donnie as a ratings machine, but that was the superficial appeal.
they didn't think to realize that hillary was in fact a far more reliable ratings machine, not because she made outrageous statements or tweets, but because they had a well-established method of generating fake scandal after fake scandal with her as target.

(11,098 posts)I often wear bow ties. They're great when a meal is served. (Shirts are more easily cleaned that ties.) Why would I want to wear a flaccid tie?
That being said, I'll grant you that Tucker is a pretentious rascal.

(36,827 posts)Bill Nye does a good job with it, but with Tucker it simply underscored the pretentious prick factor.

(11,098 posts)that wearing a bow tie requires a certain amount of "I don't give a damn what you think." A man wearing a bow tie will not follow the herd.

(11,098 posts)Get a bow tie and learn to tie it. It's not that hard. It's as easy as tying your shoes -backwards - in the dark - drunk.

(4,673 posts)CNN, MSNBC and Fox - one that is refreshed daily. I tried to find it again but couldn't - does anyone have it?
It showed ratings overall and of the demographic they mostly go after - and it was by show.
If I remember correctly, Fox was doing depressingly okay. Hannity better than I could have imagined.
The great news was that Greta's viewership dropped from MTP and then viewers came back for Chris Matthews.
Edit: found the link ... http://www.adweek.com/tvnewser/scoreboard-thursday-june-1/331178
Hannity seems to be doing scary well.

The problem, of course, is millions of rubes think this is actually what played out today and what actually happened is fake news.
