I hope that the republicans latch on to that and thoroughly bankrupt themselves with last voter willing to give them a benefit of doubt.

1. I saw all kinds of reports

starting over the weekend analyzing Comey's testimony in detail. I found it annoying and disengenous. I have my own inane biases, thank you, and don't need to be primed with other people's inane biases and spin.

People are less concerned with what he says than what they can make him out as saying.

I was taught to collect facts, analyse them, come to a conclusion, form an opinion and then, if there's a point to it, become outraged.

Now the order of events is to be outraged as you form an opinion based on empathy or solidarity or what others told you you should be outraged about, then decide what the conclusion must be, track down any supporting facts or things that could be construed as either supporting or as facts, and finally construct an analysis which, if possible, serves to increase outrage.

Well, at least we've gotten past that whole Enlightenment thing.
