Comey/Trump - I Can Now Understand Why GOP Men Aren't Sympathetic Re Sexual Harassment

I wonder how often does this play out in HR investigations and sexual harassment lawsuits:

(Following a team meeting)

Male Boss: Thanks everyone for your input. Jinny? Can I have a word with you after the meeting.

(Jinny's immediate manager and the operations manager linger in the room.)

Male Boss: You both can leave. I just want to have a few words with Jinny alone.

(Male Boss is now alone with Jinny).

Male Boss: I am glad that you decided to stay with our company following the merger. I am looking forward to working with you. I was hoping we can have dinner to discuss your future at the company. You know, there were a lot of beautiful, talented applicants who wanted your job.

Jinny: Thank you. I have enjoyed working at the company.

Male Boss: And, when would like to have dinner? I hope you will say, yes? I am looking forward to getting to know you better. How about meeting Thursday night at the Hotel Bar at the Double Tree? I understand they serve fantastic White Russians.

Jinny: Oh, I am sorry, I am scheduled to meet with my husband's family that night.

Male Boss: Are you sure? I expect loyalty.

Jinny: You will always have my best efforts for the company.

Male Boss: Your best efforts as loyal employee?

(Jinny does not have dinner with the boss. Days later, she is fired. At the sexual harassment lawsuit)

Defense Attorney: He did not expressly tell you that he expected you to sleep with or you would lose your job?

Jinny: He did not use those express words, no.

Defense Attorney: You testified earlier that his words made you uncomfortable, but you did not tell him that his request was inappropriate or that he was creating a hostile work environment?

Jinny: No.

Defense Attorney: You also did not have dinner with him or sleep with him?

Jinny: No.

Defense Attorney: So, you are just speculating that he fired you because he wanted to sleep with you?

Jinny: I understood from him telling the others to leave the room, telling me how many other people wanted my job, asking me for dinner, then firing me after I declined, that I was fired because I did not have dinner with him.

Wouldn't that be a great outcome of this 'unpresidented' time?

...and in a strategy meeting thought this was a good line of questioning. Indeed, I bet many men who are successful in their sexual harassment efforts attribute their conquests to their charisma, rather than their abuse of power.

Hate to mention it, but Dianne Feinstein made me equally uncomfortable me with her questioning Comey's,the victim's, response (i.e. "you're a big strong man..&quot rather than decrying the flat out employer offender.

Like what does Jim being big and strong have to with anything - was he supposed to challenge him to a fight (as beautiful as that would be)?

That tough "action" at that moment was counter productive.

It's just disturbing for a woman in a position of responsibility, even attempting to make a counter point, to ask a textbook predator supporting question. This position that blames the victim, it's an essential part of the Repugs defense in TrumpComey and just another illustration of the "everything's mine" Trump Doctrine and their adherence to it and him.

I want to believe you're correct, she's my Senator and a childhood friend of my late Mom.
