McConnell needs to be defeated: McConnell Basks in GOP Victory on Courts

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said Friday that the current vacancies in the U.S. court system will allow President Donald Trump to have the longest impact on the future of the country and vowed to continue to push through his nominees, regardless of any opposition from Democrats.

The comments delivered to the Faith and Freedom Coalition at its conference in Washington are likely to rile Democrats, who blasted the Kentucky Republican last year for refusing to allow even a single hearing for Judge Merrick Garland, President Barack Obama’s nominee for the Supreme Court vacancy created by the death of Justice Antonin Scalia.

For years when his party was in the minority, McConnell employed the procedural speed bumps at his disposal to slow the flow of Obama’s nominations to the federal court system. When Republicans claimed the majority after the 2014 elections, the flow slowed to a trickle, and the majority leader left dozens of nominees to linger, including Garland.

in Kentucky, most of them are in the parade, not just spectators. If that weren't the case, you wouldn't have someone like mcconell ruining our government.

...by not allowing a hearing on Garland. I hold Gorsuch to the same standard as his accepting the nomination under these conditions makes him complicit and, I think, impeachable.

What DID you do to get discharged from basic training back in '67, Mitch?

You would think when his father-in-law's shipping company got caught with a huge shipment of cocaine that would be enough not to re-elect him, but I would bet the vast majority of Kentuckian citizens don't have a clue. Need a better way to reach these voters.

Per this story in a conservative newspaper, "Mr. McConnell signed up for the Army Reserves in 1967 but got a medical discharge for optic neuritis, an eye condition that can cause blurred vision."

McConnell's vision for the country is certainly blurred but that probably doesn't get you out of the Army.
