Trump lawyer won't rule out firing Mueller

One of President Trump's lawyers didn't rule out that Mr. Trump could fire Robert Mueller, the special counsel appointed by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein to oversee the FBI's investigation into Russian election meddling and any ties between Russia and the Trump campaign.

"Look, the president of the United States, as we all know, is a unitary executive," Jay Sekulow, a member of Mr. Trump's legal team, said Sunday on ABC's "This Week." "But the president is going to seek the advice of his counsel and inside the government as well as outside. And I'm not going to speculate on what he will or will not do."

"But right now the role of the president is to govern the United States of America," Sekulow continued. "He's going to do that. He's going to leave anything else to the lawyers. But I can't imagine that that issue is going to arise. But that again is an issue that the president with his advisers would discuss if there was a basis."

Considering the firestorm ignited by the firing of former FBI Director James Comey, who testified Thursday on Capitol Hill, firing Mueller could be a political nightmare for the president. But the White House and its associates sometimes leave such questions open to speculation. When Comey was scheduled to testify before the Senate Intelligence Committee, for instance, White House press secretary Sean Spicer declined to say whether the president would invoke executive privilege to stop Comey from testifying. Ultimately, the White House made no such move and Comey testified as planned.

The Trump administration is confidently moving forward knowing that they are untouchable. The coup is complete, people. The Republicans will do nothing to remove him from office. The Democrats are oddly mute while pinning their hopes on future elections that will surely be similarly rigged. It is down to us, people.

If you think the Democrats have been oddly mute on anything then you haven't been paying attention.

The Democrats are offering weak tea. The Republicans went after Hillary hammer and tong. I am not seeing that level of concerted effort from the Democrats.
They have let the Congressional black caucus take point on this, and they have been wonderful, but other than Al Franken... and a few others, all I'm hearing is self interested electioneering.

He is the epitome of arrogant, but he is moving forward confident in the knowledge that the Republicans are going to protect him from prosecution and impeachment.

When I see one Republican cross the isle on this I will believe it. Until then... it looks like a coup to me.

The Russians stole this election and the Republicans don't care. I have no confidence that the 2018 election will be any different.

10. Remember the book "Dress For Success?"

Author John T. Malloy wrote a follow-up, "New Dress For Success."

There was a chapter on "Confidence" in which he cited a case study. It was built around a group of people in a social setting, like a cocktail party. Several men were sent into the party to mingle. Some were told to act "confidently," while the rest were told to act "arrogantly," right up to the line of being rude and offensive, and then just dial it back one notch.

In terms of "likability," the arrogant men won, hands down.

There's a "drain the swamp," shake things up, knock the Washington "status quo" on their asses that "Team Trump" carefully crafted and hammered home to the red hats. Now, WE know his only interest was self-interest. But he bottle the snake oil and sold it.

Many people love pricks. It explains the success of the "Apprentice" show and Trump's career in general. It's all been one long stretch of puffing out his chest and saying "kiss my ass," and for reasons not known to me, no one has ever called him on it, and if they did (as in some of the books and articles that resulted in lawsuits), no one listened.

Nothing says "I'm innocent" like firing every person who's investigating you.
