i missed the hearing, but i'm hoping someone used the opportunity to right one particular wrong
i sincerely wish someone took the opportunity to say something like:
"mr. sessions, you may recall that at your confirmation hearing, some valid points were censured, and senator warren in particular was denied a proper chance to speak due to invocation of rule xix, which bars certain negative statements against other senators.
well, i'm absolutely thrilled to now have the opportunity to address you in your capacity as a *former* senator, and to say directly that you are a filthy liar and a disturbingly racist person who has dedicated the length of his legal and public career to denying equal rights to a large and important portion of americans. you have made america the worse for it, and it remains a travesty that you continue to somehow hold a position of public trust."
