Capitalism saved the world.

Capitalism saved us from feudalism.
Capitalism saved us from Communism.
Capitalism saved America from slavery just as surely as abolitionism did.

But most importantly, Capitalism saved us for later.

BTW, later is coming up right about now.

Lesson for the species who'll rise after us*: don't make a deal with a lesser demon to fight a greater demon.

* Any bets who that'll be? The great apes, if they survive? Or the meerkats?

My point was that Capitalism didn't really save anyone or any society that thinks it was saved by Capitalism. It merely offered humanity what it ADVERTISED as a better deal than it was getting at the time, in exchange for putting off the inevitable endgame war against the 99% so another several generations of Plutocrats could feed off of them. That endgame is upon us.

Perhaps we should look at their demise. Their descendants are still around.

We are awash in necessary evils. If something needs to replace Capitalism, so be it. But it was never our savior and it is not evil incarnate, either.

Unregulated Capitalism -that's a different matter.

I will give you the roughly 50 years between WWI and 1980. Rich folks paid taxes and the less educated at least could count on a factory job to feed their family. But what happened? Why only 50 years?

Which is also not democratic socialism, by the way.
