On 1A today (NPR), John Dean's best line....on relative timing and the speed of this unraveling

He said that between the Watergate burglary and the days when Haldemann, Erlichman et al got nailed for obstruction, 947 days (I think - was listening in the car and it was something like that) transpired.

He noted that we are at less than 150 days (I think - approx) into this catastrophe of a so-called presidency...and you can hear the speed of things coming down all around the trumpsters. This is FAST (although, of course, not fast enough for any of us)

I had always supported the Labour party growing up but I was not yet a political junkie. However I did follow the investigation but the one thing that always puzzled me was why Nixon did not get rid of the tapes. How stupid was that. I did not think that political dirty tricks were such a big deal, (remember Guy Fawkes). However, I remember thinking that he deserved impeachment for being so stupid.

Sadly the country is now facing the same situation and, again, stupidity is what will bring down the current president. This time his crimes are so much more horrendous. I hope that Pence does not give him a pardon.
