Like going to church on Sunday, they try to cover their hate and sins they revel in during the week or off the baseball field.
It is a shame that they are not talking the same way about their constituents. An attack on one us should be an attack on them, too. We are part of their family, too. Their hate spills down to us most of all. That's what trickles down.
There should be some soul searching for how they treat all of their constituents, not just their sugar daddies.
Stop being 'mean' to us. Stop hiding the bills you are writing because they are going to be so horrible for people that they will be met with resistance. Stop fearing us. Stop making us afraid. Stop taking things away from us. Stop finding ways to not be responsible for your actions. Stop the lying. Stop the abusing. Stop the cheating. Just stop.
We all might be safer.

(50,322 posts)Even if Congress makes an effort to be civil, there's a vast right wing industry that makes money off of hate and division. That won't go away.

(13,112 posts)I have nothing in common with them.
I don't support their agendas or policies.
They are against everything I am for.
They are trying to take away the rights of women.
They are trying to force their religion on this country.
They are enriching the wealthy and starving the poor.
They don't think health care is a necessity.
They don't believe in a livable wage.
They steal and lie to win elections.
They don't believe in science.
The don't believe in regulations for Wall Street or corporations.
They don't give a damn about the environment.
They appear on radio and TV shows that spread fear, hate, lies, and conspiracies.
They never admit and apologize for their mistakes.
And on and on and on.
Exactly what can I find to unify with them on ????

(1,589 posts)in mind. Only when it directly affects them do they roll out the crocodile tears and even that is on a unforgettable background platform of hatred and divisiveness. I find it difficult to try to compel myself to be blind to the fact that their policies reflect that selfish hatred.

(25,290 posts)Why didn't that sentiment last?
Things got more partisan since then. So how soon will this same sentiment last now? Probably until just after this baseball game today. Then back to the same sniping between Party's.

(9,426 posts)in Calif. yesterday 4 of "us" were shot and killed while starting a shift at work. Are their lives less valued than Scalise's? Their families and loved ones are suffering, and I hope they survive the cost of their medical and funeral bills. Scalise has the wonderful medical insurance WE THE PEOPLE provide. Not to seem cold, but ALL lives matter. So Ryan is saying "an attack on one of us is an attack on ALL of us" but he means just the political class. If the repubs. think people are upset now, wait until they unveil their NEW healthcare bill, that shoves most people off insurance coverage. It has to be really awful, since even democratic politicians are not allowed to see it, or participate in forming it.

(45,600 posts)Americans get shot by white supremacists purely from a place of hatred and uncontrollable rage against brown people and no mention about "we are a family" and "an attack on one is an attack on all".
Good normal Americans have been stabbed and killed defending other good normal Americans on a train recently and no mention about any of this coming together to denounce hate.
I guess they are talking about a different family. A family of white conservative males who give speeches at white supremacist conferences and model themselves after Trump supporter David Duke.
