...continuing to ignore Russia throwing the Presidential election to tRump* and continuing to pave the way for Putin* and Exxon* to plunder the Arctic is getting a bit obvious.

Being a Rethuglican in Congress is all about hedging your bets... and paying off all those political debts. Don't think for one minute that the Rethugs did anything for the benefit of the Country. They didn't. Their focus groups and handlers have made it VERY CLEAR that this "Russia thing" IS NOT GOING AWAY. And many of the Rethuglican persuasion are starting to realize 2018 and 2020 could be veritable bloodbaths at the ballot box.

POTUS would have to get congressional approval. Would make 5 Obama executive orders into law. SENATE passed almost unanimously 90-something to two.

Now it goes to the house, which is expected to try to water it down. Rump and Secretary of Exxon Tillerson have been lobbying over there, and of course the big money people controlling much of the GOP these days.

The Senate Democrats had to cut a deal: pass Russia sanctions and the Dems wouldn't be so vociferous on health care. It was in the Post.
