What To Make Of What Morning Joe Said About The Last 2 Shooters

A paranoid schizophrenic that thought his pets were spying on him, and reporting him to the feds shot Gabby Giffords.

A person who appears to be normal and "inside the lines" shot Scalise.

This has Republicans scared according to Joe.

Maybe they are now thinking about who they are hurting?

I doubt it.....

They are right now figuring how to kick millions off their health insurance to free up tax cuts for billionaires.

maybe what scares them is he is "one of them" . it's not a minority they love to target and attack like blm, islam, etc.

and while he was a sanders supporter he seemed to be a former republican angry at the party but still not a hillary supporter. and they view hillary as representative of everything and everyone they see as evil.

he was a "regular guy" with a house inspector job. yeah, he had a history of domestic violence but they see that as normal(and a good thing) among their angry white male supporters.

it's easy for them to talk about doing something which target minorities which they view as "them" "others" etc .

but doing things to target this guy would mean people that look like them.

3. Yes a POS loser but they could previously compartmentalise shooters as mentally ill. This changes

that dynamic AND that it was someone supposedly on the Democratic side, which is not the norm. Perhaps we will find out that he used to vote Republican but was taken with the Sanders rhetoric.....and there are quite a few of them out there.

the areas many of these guys come from . unless it was while in dc.

but the ones they would expect to attack them in dc did not do so but instead it was someone that is like many of the people in their districts.

4. Targeted political violence is a different animal

Especially when you are the target.

The guy who shot Gabby Giffords was a paranoid schizophrenic who believed grammar was a mind control tool and was obsessed with Giffords after he asked her a nonsense question at a town hall and he thought her answer meant she was in on the grammar mind control conspiracy.

It's easy to write that off as bad luck that the crazy guy happened to get fixated on her. It just as easily could have been a family member of his or a neighbor or a coworker or a stranger he got obsessed with, it was just her bad luck to become the focus of his obsession and had nothing to do with her politics.

This appears to be a whole different deal. This guy wasn't mentally ill. He knew what he was doing and he targeted those specific people because of who they are and what they do politically. It's the first politically motivated assisination attenpt in this country in quite a long time.
