GA has spent wagon loads of money on the 6th District race. SC has spent many times less.
But, the interesting part to study, in my opinion, will be the Republican turnout in the two states. It seems to me that the more the Republicans are challenged, the more they turn out, even if the candidate is a dud. The turnout percentages will be interesting.
With SC, we will get a more accurate reading of where the Republican base might be, if left to their own consciences and desires. GA is a more-manipulated state with all the money spent and all the propaganda that has been dished out. The vaunted Republican propaganda machine will be tested.
In my opinion, Democrats may stand a better chance in a low-key race, with Trump on the ballot, than a big-spending free-for-all as they are having in GA? We shall see. We can study the tea leaves when it is over.

(111,092 posts)I think they need to re-evaluate the way they build up Republicans by trying to hype up Democrats. The idea is to inspire Democrats to get out and vote but it seems to have the opposite effect when they allow it to become nationalized and treated like some big sporting event. Just a thought.
