The internet is pointing to Mike Pences 2010 tweet to rebuke Senate Republicans today
Rep. Mike Pence made a point that is awfully inconvenient for Vice President Mike Pence
MATTHEW ROZSA
Before Mike Pence was elected vice president, he was just one of 435 members of the House of Representatives. Given that he was also a Republican, its hardly surprising that he was a staunch opponent of President Barack Obamas landmark health care bill, the Affordable Care Act.
That said, one criticism Pence had of Obamas legislation is coming back to bite him in a big way.
That tweet was from January 2010 right around the time that the Obama administration was nearly through with its successful push to pass the Affordable Care Act, and because they were criticized for acting quickly and secretly, Republicans like Pence were quick to lambast them for doing so.
Not surprisingly, many on Twitter are drawing attention to the double-standard between Pences views on health care bill secrecy in 2010 and his presumed support for the Senate Republicans actions today.
