Something just occurred to me regarding Trump's resistance to RussiaHackerGate

The reason he just won't let it go is not because something may come up about Russia's hacking by itself. He and Putin (throw Tillerson, et al the people with Russian ties in for more evidence of this) have BIG plans regarding drilling for oil within in the Arctic Circle. They can't do it now because Obama banned any drilling for oil for the next five years there. Trump can't "executive sign it away" either. It all has to be revisited by Congress and overturned if it's to be reversed before then.

Trump is probably not afraid to lose his Presidential position because of any hacking or it's consequences. But he and his buds stand to lose Billions and Billions if they can't get their greedy little hands on all that oil.

And the more time goes by, the less likely there might be a Republican majority in Congress which means they're less likely to get that oil.

My Dad always said the only reason the repubs ran Bush younger was because he was smart enough to win but dumb enough to be manipulated by the oil industry. Guess they thought they could pull it off again with Twitler. Somehow, I don't think this is what they had in mind.

He doesn't care about being President in the way others do. He would probably dismiss any eventuality that he would be impeached because the next President Pence will pardon him.

Putin doesn't need to have anything on Trump to blackmail him. All he has to do is offer him a cut on the profits of all that oil if he gives Putin the right to drill in the Arctic. Putin gets greed. He probably has all those American friends because he understands their greed very well.

4. It's quite possible trump is just trying to buy time

All his tweeter storms and idiocy might not be evidence that he's throwing a tantrum. He just wants it to look that way. He's probably just buying time in the hopes that he can get some legislation from the Republican Congress before it loses it's collective ass in elections in 2018. If they do lose the majority he and his Russian wannabes can kiss their dreams goodbye as far as getting legislation changed regarding the 5 year ban that Obama passed.

After that it will all depend on whether he ever gets a Republican majority during, let's say, his two terms in office.

There may not be a Republican majority for quite a while and that means Obama's ban may even get extended by the Democrats.

A hell of a lot of wealth is riding on overturning that ban.
