If they're winning, they're winning. And our taunting and gloating that "ha ha, they won with a much narrower margin than they won last time" is just silly.
We need to stop making excuses for losing elections and start putting some wins on the board or nothing else will matter.

(14,249 posts)We don't need to give up. We need to fight smarter. And chasing around after and throwing money at Trump voters hoping they'll change their minds and vote for a Democrat is stupid.

(7,528 posts)I don't think the world can be saved.
People want to shoot each other and beat children with bats until they die and drive into pedestrians.
We have a spoiled, egocentric leader who couldn't give two fucks about humanity except for what turnip blood he can squeeze out to to weigh down his own coffers.
Apparently, this is what people want and voted for and continue to want.

(3,194 posts)I just wish those of us who are Democrats didn't have to suffer, and that all the Bullshit the repubs will put forth, only impacted the IDIOTS who put them in office.

(2,785 posts)we don't win is another vote for the the republican party's toxic agenda. Repukes don't care that they barely win as long as they win. Seriously their president got 3 million less votes than his opponent, but is that stopping them from trying to take health away from millions of Americans?

(14,249 posts)Just look at them - the president is in the midst of the worst scandal possibly in American history. His poll numbers are in the toilet. Republicans in the House and Senate are screwing their constituents every which way. But on the ground, people are still voting Republican, despite all of this. We need to stop trying to convince those voters to vote Democratic - they're not going to do it. We need to focus on our base.
I remember back in 2013 after the Republicans shut down the government and pundits and consultants crowed about how the shutdown was a disaster for the Republicans and Republicans were doomed, etc.
And then less than a year later, the Republicans kicked our asses in the mid-terms, picked up seats in the House and took the Senate away from us. And two years after that, they kicked our asses again AND took back the White House. So much for that "Republicans shot themselves in the foot" argument.
We need to realize that there's little they can do to get these people to turn on them.
I'd add to that, not just focus on the base but also find out what will motivate the nonvoters

(32,701 posts)Not to mention last minute dirty tricks --- why did the polling location change for so many in Dekalb? Ossoff would be the winner tonight if not for rethug dirty tricks. The media isn't talking about any of that stuff tonight. If these issues aren't addressed more forcefully, the losses will continue.

At the end of the day it's another win for TRUMP.

(10,893 posts)this was a district where Democrats weren't supposed to come close to winning, anyway. I didn't expect a victory. I'm still keeping my head up, plus the district has been trending in a favorable direction for Democrats:

We'll see whether or not this leads to a blue tidal wave next year, but it's a good sign if the GOP has to spend this much money and do so much cheating to squeak out a win. I don't see the GOP having much of a chance at bouncing any Democratic incumbents.
