(52,221 posts)i really think that if "all" we have is electoral crimes and obstruction, republicans will insist this is just politics and won't shoot themselves in the foot by playing any part in forcing him out.
on the other hand, if donnie if personally guilty of a serious crime having nothing to do with politics, prior to the campaign, that gives republicans cover to separate donnie from the republican party, i.e., to force donnie out while insisting that this say absolutely nothing bad about the republican party because donnie's crimes are his and his alone.
on the other hand, in the long run, it might be best of our party if is impeached by a democratic congress after a sweeping victory in the mid-terms, is not convicted/removed by the senate (lacking republican support necessary to reach 2/3rds) and then we have another sweeping victory in 2020.

How can he convince Pence to blanket pardon him is his likely secret focus right now.
