The correct response re Pelosi is: "Thanks for your opinions, Republicans."

Come on now. We've seen this play before. Republicans vilify someone, something, even some word (like "Liberal!&quot in their eternal quest for scapegoats.

Some Democrats, as if on cue, run center stage to declare that everything we're doing is wrong, and what we REALLY need to be doing is:

- "listening" more to people who consider us demons.
- putting more white men in leadership positions.
- embracing the South and shunning Coastal Elites.
- changing our oh-so-horrible "message" (my personal favorite).
- changing our strongest challengers. Hello?

If they've painted Nancy Pelosi as so abysmal that she helps them raise money from their deluded base, that is NOT a reason to jettison her -- on the contrary, it is a reason to champion her, be creative about fighting back, call them on their hypocrisy, and keep getting out the vote. Retreat is not an option, because there is absolutely nothing Democrats can do in response to Republicans that will change the game. They just score the point, and move on to the next one. They've done it for years.

There's a reason they try to make our strongest Democrats into liabilities. We need to take note, thank them for their concern, and move ahead.

Do we really think that if someone else was in Pelosi's position, that s/he would not be equally vilified?

Then they'd pretend to be oh so worried about that person (*cough* Joe Lieberman *cough* John Edwards).

Its a tactic that's usually used politically in Australia. If you say someone is incompetent often enough, their supporters start to believe it. Keep standing up for her because she deserves your support. You'd be very hard pressed to find anyone amongst the Republicans that compare with her.

That's the tactic. They (and the pundits) also like to analyze over and over and over again why Hillary Clinton lost the election, or at least the cockamamie electoral college. From this, they infer that Democrats need to be:

- More positive. Because you could see how positive Trump was (and she never said "Stronger Together&quot .
- More focused on policies to help working people, because Trump said he'd bring back coal mines (and she never put together any jobs proposals, pages long, early on, right there on her website).
- More specific about how we'd help people, because Trump was oh-so-specific in making outlandish claims and promises (and she never said a word about "God-given potential" or "debt-free college" etc. etc.)
- More centered on issues, rather than putting down the opponent, because Trump was the personification of politeness in his campaign only spoke only about issues, whereas she had the nerve to warn people that her opponent was unfit for office, and a puppet of Putin...

The STUPID is just mind-boggling.
