Do people really care?

I appreciate Bernie and others attempting to appeal to the better nature of people but I don't think it will work.
Keeping the focus on the millions who will lose coverage and die is important however I think we need to focus also on what the AHCA will do to people who have a secure plan through their employer. Like imposing lifetime caps on care for instance.

I'm convinced that many many people do not give one crap if others die or lose their coverage.
I know people like this. They have Tricare or a good employer based plan and don't give a shit about anyone but themselves.

Like the old saying goes, "Know your enemy".

Trying to appeal to people's good nature and empathy is not going to work. I hate to say it, but there is so much death televised with mass shootings, police shootings, people being assaulted - people are becoming desensitized. And maybe that's not even what's happening. Maybe people just have to turn away and find a place in their head to not let every single atrocity effect them mentally. I'm guilty of that. Everyday, practically, something hurts me heart. But if I took it in and allowed it to overtake me, I wouldn't be able to do my job, take care of my family.

Showing how this will impact everyone, not just the disabled and poor or old and sick, is necessary. This needs to be explained and shown how this will hit everyone. If that can't be done, trying to play on people's sympathies for those who will suffer most will have little effect.

Risk will increase for all insurers, so we all pay more, even those with an imployer plan. Hospital and clinics will fold, so we will have fewer choices, or have to travel farther, especially in rural areas.

I focus on the fact that our local hospital will close and all the doctors will flee. That really gets their attention because it then becomes about them.

their family was drafted, they didn"t seem to care how many Americans and Vietnamese were killed or maimed, nor what it was costing taxpayers.

Also about the time I left religion in the dust because no one really cared.

He served in Afghanistan.
He came home and was pissed how no one cared.

He's the type though that couldn't give two shits if people die from lack of access to healthcare because he has Tricare.
