Nylah Lewis, the Brooklyn baby beaten by her father into a coma, has died
The 16-month-old girl allegedly beaten into a coma by her teen-aged dad during a Father’s Day visit died early Friday at a Brooklyn hospital.
Little Nylah Lewis, who suffered multiple skull fractures and bleeding on the brain, passed away at 10:40 a.m. to end a courageous five-day fight for her life, said a statement from Maimonides Medical Center.
“They took my baby away,” the child’s sobbing mother Tammy Lewis said a short time later at her mom’s Brooklyn home.
The little girl's father, 19-year-old Shaquan Taylor, will likely now face murder charges.
